"The Boy in the Train"

This morning I found myself in Kirkcaldy Station with time to kill waiting for my train home - I was amused to see this linoleum plaque on the wall and have the chance to read again the well know poem (at least in Fife!) about the wee boy visiting his granny in Kirkcaldy talking about the smell of linseed that used to pervade the whole town in the days of linoleum manufacture.
I can well remember that smell myself as a wee boy visiting my granny in Edinburgh and we would slide open the window (you could in these days) at Kirkcaldy station and sniff the air.
I like the last 2 lines of the poem :-
"For I ken mysel' by the queer-like smell
That the next stop's Kirkcaddy"
Apologies to non Scots who may find some of the words a bit alien!
(Probably need to enlarge to read the words)
