Witch Hazel

I must pass the Chinese Witch Hazel at least 4 or 5 times each day. No flowers appeared last winter and I did wonder whether it wanted to stay with us.

Today I noticed that it had flowered with the delicate yellow brightening the gloomy weather. It has a fascinating flower which will yield some perfume but I haven't noticed that yet.
