They are out there anyway, however you may wish to pluralise them.

I went to the opticians this afternoon and was going to post a photo of my eyeball, but I decided against that. I wouldn't like to inflict it to public gaze because I guess there may well be a lot of people like me who become a bit queasy at the sight of eyes. I did learn that, just as our skin can get freckles, so can our eyes only then they are known as Nevis ('as in Ben Nevis?' I asked)
