"Drop & give me 20!"

We had a lovely day with the girls today, although we were stuck in the house, as we're back to icy rain & colder temps. Toward late afternoon, they got a little overtired, & when we asked them to pick up their things off the floor, they got a little bucky! Grandpa told them if they didn't pick up their things, they'd have to "drop & give me 20!" They both stood there gazing up at him, then looked at each other, then back @ grandpa & Addy said "We don't know what you're saying." Grandpa explained that back when he was in the service if you didn't do something you were supposed to, they'd tell you to do 20 push-ups as punishment! Well, they looked at him for a few seconds more, looked at each other, & they started to giggle! Addy says "Come on Ella, lets do push-ups!" They giggled their way through about 4 of them, then Addy sat up and asked if they could be done because they couldn't do that many. Grandpa asked if they were going to pick up their things, & they did, with enthusiasm! Don't you just love it when your "parenting skills" actually work?? Haha! :)
