Yosemite Day Six
Our last day in the Yosemite Park before moving on, we’re very sad to leave. It’s a completely beautiful place. Chris had an early morning start to capture some shots as the sun began to light the valley. We then visited a number of different locations on a final lap around the valley floor before departing the park late afternoon.
This blip was taken by Annie from an early morning stop looking back through the valley with El Capitan on the left. It's a huge rock formation which just asks to be centre of attention.
On our way out of the park we paused at “The Rim”, looking at the devastation caused by the 2013 fires. With (according to Wikipedia) 257,314 acres burnt, large parts of the countryside that should be lush evergreen were black and brown. It was quite moving to look at.
Our overnight stay is in Groveland and we enjoyed a Mexican evening meal in a local restaurant with some of the biggest portions we’ve ever seen.
There are 6 other Blippers on the Yosemite tour - John Gravett, Graham Colling, June Fox, Keith Knight, Matthew Lynes and our brilliant guide (and new blipper) Mike.
