House in Shepherd's Bush, Pennard Road, London
London is full of unique properties, and this is one of them. I'm guessing they wanted a grand house on a small plot. Shepherd's Bush was fields until 1864 when the Metropolitan Railway built a station there (it's now the Hammersmith & City tube line).
There's lots of history in Shepherd's Bush. It was one of the sites for the 1908 Olympics; it was also where the BBC's Lime Grove Studios were (as portrayed in The Hour); and where the Shepherd's Bush Empire was, where Charlie Chaplin performed as a young man before finding fame in America.
