The funky gecko...

Had a really busy day at work with no time to blip, so had to get creative when I got home. This little chap is a wall ornament I bought in Paris, a few years ago... I gave him the "thermal" treatment!
Geckos are fascinating little creatures...
Most cannot blink, but they can lick their eyes to keep them clean and moist.
They communicate with each other using chirping sounds, and indeed the name "gecko" comes from the Indonesian-Malay word "gēkoq", which is an imitation of the sound they make.
Unlike most lizards, geckos are usually nocturnal and are great climbers.
