Hole of Horcum
The best weather was forecast for this morning so Jet and I went for a walk at the Hole of Horcum. This is a natural bowl formed by springs feeding into the stream at the bottom of the slope. It is a popular haunt of walkers and these who stop off to admire the view on their way to Whitby.
This building is at the foot of the slope and in recent years has been improved, although I am unsure of its modern day use. We then slithered our way alongside the stream until turning up Dundale Griff up to Dundale ponds before turning back towards the car. Fortunately the cold biting wind was on our backs as we came along the track above the basin.
Home for a hot cuppa and to prepare for two sons who are heading home for the weekend.
