Sir Alfred Herbert

A day at the herbert museum today. The kids where making sculptures made from tin foil.

Amy is so much better today . And ive finally managed to get an appointment at the docs for her.

This blip is of Sir Alfred Herbert. It's made of thousands of smaller images.
Here is a brief description of the man him self.

Alfred Herbert had a parts and tools business in coventry that supplied Coventry Cycles. He was involved with building alms houses. And caring for wounded soldiers from the war. He was knighted in 1917 for his generosity, business mind and kindness.

Herbert's legacy also lives on in the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum, of which he was a major benefactor. In 1938 he donated £100,000 to Coventry City Council to erect a Gallery and Museum on a town centre site owned by the council. The city's destruction during the Second World War meant that construction was suspended. New plans were drawn up in 1952, and in May 1954 the foundation stone was laid by Herbert, who also donated a further £100,000 to the project.he died before seeing the completion of the build.
