Fish

"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will send you out to fish for people." Mark 1:17

Here is a picture of a last minute dinner - fish and chips. I was late out of work because we had a visit from CQC today - eek. And we went to Costco to stock up on a few things, so it was quite late when we were getting home, so we went to our local fish and chip shop, who are very generous with their portions. This is a "small" fish. I don't see why anyone would need a large!!!

The Bible verse I have chose for this is Jesus calling his first disciples. Jesus often likened his ministry to fishing, and called his disciples to become fishers of men. I have been thinking about why this was, I guess it involves a seeking out of people who are ready to hear the message of God, then there is the hook to get them interested, then bringing them to a place where they are caught up in God's love for them. This is not something you can do alone, but you need the Holy Spirit with you. It is also of course a role that the disciples knew because most of them were fishermen.
