Kochi harbour
We love this bit of water .. the water leads out into the Arabian Sea. I once read a review of a hotel here that looks out over the harbour that said 'this would be great if it weren't for the boats going past all the time!' We love the boats .. they are of all different shapes and sizes and this is a thriving container port now and invariably gets these wonderful sunsets at this time of year.
We went into the city and were having a coffee this morning a group of students asked if they could film and interview us for a project. They wanted to know why the 'foreigners' that they had interviewed so far felt that there were so man problems with India - the transport, the way that women are treated, the food ... we said we love India and especially Kerala and we think that the news about attacks on women has been highlighted since the rape in Delhi last year. But I think it is the same the world over India is no exception. Anyway we gave our views and I think they had interviewed people who had not got into the real India.. who knows...
we are celebrating our Anniversary a month to the day in advance as I will be in the US when our actual anniversary happens.. well I will be returning on that day. And we are having a wonderful weekend. Even a cocktail tonight ... !!!
Anyway I wanted to show you the full harbour.. Chinese fishing nets in the distance, cranes, islands boats and all .. ferries, wicker boats, dredgers, container boats.. I am from Liverpool and that used to be like this but without the heat!
