Ernakulam

Yesterday was the view over the waterway and this is the view in the opposite direction towards the city of Ernakulam. We know it well now and this is where we have spent the weekend. We stayed at the Taj Gateway hotel and I would recommend it to anyone. The service is outstanding. On our first evening there the new waiter in the bar spilt a cocktail with a green colour in it on my white trousers. This is the first time I have worn western clothes and had a drink like this for months so that will teach me! However the hotel went to such lengths to apologise and to clean them it was incredible.

I have given some very good feedback on TripAdviser for this hotel and as well as the good feedback I did comment on the fact that their deli which is really a coffee shop and ice cream shop had become a little run down. Well the general manager approached us and said he had really valued the feedback and that they had changed the deli around as a result of it.. and would we go and see. We did and we still didn't think it looked great and he asked us again so we told him and he asked us to do a tour of it with him telling him all the things we thought.. We felt a mixture of admiration and embarrassment... but amazing that they are taking the feedback to heart so much.. and then in the evening we were sent a complimentary bottle of wine and two larges slices of chocolate cake .. I have a headache today!
