Aftermath
The storm was pretty much over by morning, so I took a walk down our street and this scene greeted me in the neighbor's yard. If you look carefully you can see that the tree partially crushed the two Adirondack chairs sitting in the yard. Some branches did hit the front of the house, but fortunately it doesn't look like there's too much damage.
I can't get over those ROOTS - it's hard to believe that the winds could knock that tree over, but seemingly didn't topple any of the others around here. Our neighborhood is about fifty years old, so there are a lot of huge trees.
The only "damage" we sustained was a dead tree we've been meaning to cut down anyway fell over into the street and had to be cut up/dragged into our front lawn during the storm. Fortunately it didn't hit the power lines or a car or anything.
Thanks Mother Nature, the Atlantic Assault has been very instructive.
