Nordkapp

We had a leisurely morning aboard the ship and at 11.45am we disembarked in Honningsvag and went in a convey of 7 coaches for a 45 minute drive to the North Cape. The scenery was outstanding but very snowy and windy and for part of the journey it was almost a ‘whiteout’!
We drove the last part of the journey following a snow plough which was keeping the road open especially for us!
When we got there the scenery was stunning and I was spoilt for choice for a blip after that! I chose this view of the ‘actual’ Northern most part of the continent (rather than the North Cape Rock which was thought to be the most northern point for many years). The people on the left give the scene a sense of scale.
We returned to the ship and continued our voyage which will take us to Kirkenes tomorrow.
