SKUNK ALERT!

Ollie showed up today – a huge surprise to everyone! She looks a little forlorn because she didn’t realize most final events in the Alternative Olympics were finished earlier today, if not sooner. Her heart was set on the Curling event – mainly because she wouldn’t have to move very fast, and also her tail would have made a fine broom. It was very difficult to let her know she missed out because when she’s disappointed, Ollie’s tail starts to rise and that only means someone is going to get sprayed with the most vile smelling, longest lasting odor known to man (or to any animal for that matter). It is impossible to get rid of. Rather than risk ‘the stink’, I tried to make Ollie happy by telling her she might be able to carry her team's flag into the Closing Ceremony. (Of course, there is no ‘team’ as Ollie was the only skunk to show up. Luckily, she didn’t stop to think of that at the moment, and it bought me some time to get out of there!) Whew!!

CoraBell Cardinal will be manning the concession stand at tomorrow’s Closing Ceremony. She’s shown here preparing for the big day. And Georgina Junco has a great spot all staked out to watch the Ceremony. She won’t be marching in with the athletes since she already has her seat.
