Now it really is spring

Our own crocus, which have been naturalised in the lawn, have not only shown their green shoots, but are in flower. For us, this is the sign that it really is spring.

If only we could get into the garden now and do some useful work. But it still is raining everytime we think of getting outside and, even worse, the water table is only an inch or so below the surface, so any king of digging is out of the question.

So we have had a lazy weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. We all ought to be kind to ourselves and allow ourselves time to do what we want - even if that is nothing.
