Quarry

We found a new place to walk today at Cloddach Quarry. The quarry is still worked but there are a number of old pits that have been flooded as they are below the water table of the nearby Lossie River. They seem quite interesting and we saw a number of different ducks including mallard and wigeon, mute and whooper swans and at present an unidentified goose. It is also the home of the Moray Apiary Training Centre. On the way back we bumped into a former colleague who invited us back to his house next to where we had parked, unbeknown to us, for coffee. A nice end to the walk! I quite liked this bit of disused quarry machinery. Other blips from here to follow!
