First primrose
Despite the increased wind and cloud it has still been a lovely day today and during a quick trip out at lunchtime I found several clumps of primroses Primula vulgaris growing in the hedgerows near Barnes green.
I love primroses and have wonderful childhood memories of going to Wimland hill and picking bunches for all my Mum's friends and my many Aunts. Of course this is illegal and would never be allowed today, nor would I want to do it, but back in the day it was the done thing. Ever since those days I have loved the delicate smell of the cheerful pretty yellow flowers, and the way they are one of the first spring flowers to grace the countryside.
Today's blip is a study of one of the beautiful Primrose flowers taken from a fresh angle.......so good to see spring beginning to unfurl!
