Miniature Iris.

No Almost Monday Mono today, I went out with the compact and couldn't see the screen because of the sun and didn't want to pull my jacket over my head to keep the light off it because it was pouring down with rain and I'd have got wet. Not being able to see where you're pointing the camera is a big disadvantage. There was also a dirty great smudge on the lens that made the centre of the image soft focus so those shots were all discarded.

However, I did see these irises in our host's front garden as the reading group was disbanding. Someone said that they were "as pretty as a picture" so I took her at her word. It was raining again.
