'Amphibian pool'

Behind our garden lie the grounds of Kilmardinny Loch. Immediately behind our fence used to be meadow-type grass, then a path, then the loch. But the grass is now virtually a 'wetland' which the council ecologist would like to preserve it as such. Council, therefore, dug an amphibian pool where we used to have grass.

The swan is swimming in our amphibian pool. It seemed to be feeding there too, so maybe we have a good crop of something in the pool. [And if it is deep enough for a swan to swim in, the pool could just be a hazard for small children - a point we have made to the Council.]
