Arizona Dreamin’

Acorn Woodpecker

I'm gradually filling in my back blips. Have all the photos in, just have to do the cropping, etc., like on this guy.

I took a little time to go up to Madera Canyon late this afternoon. I went up yesterday and took a few shots, too. Madera Canyon is the national park located about 23 miles from me, up in the Santa Rita Mountains within the sprawling Coronado National Forest.

There's a wildlife area with some covered benches where you can view wild turkeys and all kinds of birds because they have a variety of feeders placed around the area.

From Spring through mid-October, there are several hummingbird feeders placed fairly closely to the seating area so that with a reasonably good long lens you can get decent photos.

I've even gotten a glimpse of the occasional squirrel, hare or even Mule deer in the woods behind the area.

I can sit there for hours.

It's peaceful there and it's my refuge.
