Dreaming...
Backblip
No time for Olympus v Canon shots today as it we had another Transition Planning Meeting at Alan’s school this morning then a meeting with Rachel & Ed in the afternoon. Grabbed today’s blip from the car on the way home (David was driving!) It’s one of my favourite trees.
We arrived at school early so we could go to the T42 Café (that’s Tea for Two and not Tea Forty-two as I’ve been calling it all year!) that Alan’s class runs every Wednesday morning. Tea/coffee and home baking. I had a tea and a cheese scone, David had coffee, a cheese scone and a giant cupcake! They were delish. Alan was on meet and greet duty and was very charming to everyone, even us!
School meeting went exceptionally well with everyone who needed to be there turning up. Everyone is so positive and helpful. Honestly, after our horrendous experiences in Alan’s younger years (different local authority) I have to pinch myself to check I’m not dreaming!
It’s quite a daunting prospect, trying to ensure that when Alan leaves school he has a happy and fulfilling life filled with good experiences, friends and continued learning, but the resources here seem good and post-school his week looks like it will be over-full rather than empty, which makes me happy. Lots of things for him to try out and once we know what he really enjoys, he can adjust his week to suit.
I’m sure it won’t all be plain sailing but as long as there’s breath in my body, I am determined he will have the best life possible.
