Lichen

This lichen is on my ornamental twisted hazel shrub. It seems to have a lot of it and I might transplant the hazel into a border to see if it fares better with more room to spread its roots and take up natural elements from the soil. I took this photograph at 8am this morning before I left for work, it was raining then as you can see from the soggy lichen, and it's still raining now, it hasn't stopped all day. At least it isn't cold.
