Writing Rocks

Victorian writing carved into rocks at Shipley Glen near Saltaire. This beauty spot since Victorian times has an outcrop of Yorkshire gritstone where many hard climbers have honed their skills. It is also a very popular woodland and walking area with fabulous views over the Aire valley.

In this photo in the distance is the edge of Bingley. The glen is also famous for it's Tramway which has run since 1895, but the fun fair, wooden toboggan ride and Japanese garden are no longer there.
