Tufted Twosome!
I spent a lovely day with my dad! We went to Carsington Water, a reservoir in Derbyshire.
We had a great birding afternoon. Many species spied, even if it took dad ages to get a glimpse of the Snipe as they were incredibly well camouflaged.
Species of note were - reed bunting, snipe, oystercatchers, tree sparrows, little grebe, barnacle geese, lapwings, pochard, teal and whooper swans - 65 of them (I didn't count them!)
This is a shot of female (front) and male (back) tufted ducks. They're such cute ducks and never keep still, always diving! The male here has just surfaced.
