at home with an Ivysaurus

By MoGrant

The pleasantest thing ever a child can do!

We have a swing park right behind our house. It's no exaggeration to say it was the reason I wanted to move here - as soon as I saw the park, before we asked about rent or saw upstairs I was sold. They actually took the park away when ivy was born, and I was very upset. Now there's a Shiny new park with Climbing holds and a see saw.

Today for the first time ivy had a go on the swings. She had a great time and was giggling away. I thought it was important to blip this as a milestone. In a few months no doubt she'll be pestering us to take her to the park.

Had an outdoor family sort of day. We just got a new carrier for ivy that is very comfortable- so took her down the aallotment and Euan had her on his back whilst shoveling soil into the diesel powered riddler. We now have enough soil in our polytunnel bed to plant the first seeds. Radish, beetroot, spring onion and little round carrots have gone in to fill space till it's tomato time. Ivy also had her very first alfresco breast feed, sitting on an empty cable reel in the sunshine.

Then we had worked up such an appetite we went to the front for chips before a trip to the school to let ivy see a peace crane making workshop. We didn't let her play with the posh paper though.

This afternoon task is to put soft edges on the bottom of the tv cabinet ivy keeps hitting off now she's more mobile
