Coming in to land!

Today I went to Venus Pool Nature Reserve near Shrewsbury. When I arrived there were a few cars in the car park then suddenly a lot of people arrived with "gun barrel" lenses and scopes. Apparently a Siberian chiffchaff had been seen. I certainly wouldn't be able to recognise one without research so haven't a clue if I saw one, I doubt it as the big guns that I spoke to hadn't!

I did see lots of more common birds including these lapwings that were doing a lot of squabbling - it's that time of year! I was particularly pleased to see a small flock of yellowhammers (too far away to get a decent shot though).
