Ice walking

This lake, Rauðavatn, which we pass on our way out of Reykjavik to Hveragerði, has been totally frozen for a few weeks now, and people have been skating on it. I would be too scared I would fall through the ice, but apparently it is not very deep. We had a nice time in Reykjavik today, the sun was shining and the wind was silent, we had delicious fish and rosemary potatoes for lunch and then attended a protest gathering. There were a few thousand people, a lot of people are upset about the new government reneging on their promise to hold a referendum on whether to continue with talks about joining the EU.
