Natural curves, Orchardton Woods, Cumbernauld
I had been intending to go for a walk around Broadwood Loch for a few weeks, but it is quite an exposed walk and the recent inclement weather has not made it an attractive proposition. Today was dry and occasionally sunny, so Broadwood it was.
It's a pleasant enough stroll (only about 3km) without terribly much to commend it by the way of attractive scenery. However, there's a woodland extension - only another kilometre - that has a bit of variety, with some interesting colours, shapes and textures. It has been quite a while since I did that walk, so it was an enjoyable diversion.
Came across these trees this afternoon. It was odd to see how they were bent over and in a very unusual position, but I also liked the contrast between the curvature of the trees and the straight lines of the fence and the surrounding trees.
