STICKY BUD

A cold, grey morning when we walked the dogs today. By the time Mr.MS7 went to the golf club the sun had managed to struggle through the clouds.
After lunch the sun tempted me into the garden (it was very, very cold.) I did some general tidying and pruning.

I picked this Horse Chestnut bud three weeks ago and it has just started to open. These buds have always been known to me as "sticky buds" for the obvious reason.
