Spring chickens

An early morning start to the day as we took a few chickens down to Ross poultry sale. It's quite a fascinating event... The people, the birds, the speed of the auctioneer's speech, the intense but understated bidding. There are many photos to be had there, but Ken Grant, a lecturer in photojournalism at Newport college has already shot a great essay and book on these sales. I always have that in mind when I'm at the sale.
