Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

A slow Sunday. Very slow.

We had a great evening with our ex-neighbours, catching up on all their news. Our old flat is being gutted, the kitchen moved - the works. It needed a new lease of life.

Bubbly then red wine with the meal, safari photos on the big TV after dinner- things were going well. Then JR uttered the fatal words - ‘Who’d like a night cap?’ D was keen, and so to be polite, we joined him. I think it was the Drambuie followed by a Bailey’s which did it for me…

And so today has been very very slow. I have finally (3pm) tidied up the kitchen - thank goodness for the ‘magic cupboard’ (digitaldaze's excellent name for the dishwasher) as it was always my aim (pre dishwasher days) to wash the dishes before I went to bed - not always the best idea.

I contemplated popping out for a blip, but it was a fleeting thought, and it was soon dismissed.

The peace lily came to my rescue.

Now the sofa beckons...
