Checkmate

Up early to to get the ferry from Picton to Wellington. The photograph was taken as we made sight of land of North Island (Pencarrow Head) on our approach to Wellington harbour – not too sure about the function of the lighthouse on the beach. Once into the Motel, situated right in the heart of Wellington, we had a wander around the town to locate restaurants for eating out tonight and a cafe with free Wi-Fi (Mr Bun on Dixon Street) where we had a coffee and a catch up on emails etc. Bright sunny day on the ferry trip but when we walked around the shops in Wellington the rain bucketed down.
