Blowin' in the Wind

Intended to do a star trail this evening but the predicted clear sky never materialised so I had to fall back on my afternoon excursion to Brockholes nature reserve. This reed bed is said to hold Bitterns but they have proven very elusive and I have yet to catch sight of one. The reeds were blowing nicely in the wind and I attempted to capture their movement. Being without a tripod and without filters it was not easy. (I could sense John muttering behind me at my lack of preparedness). Using minimum ISO and the smallest aperture the lens would allow gave me a shutter speed which offered a chance of showing movement.
