Still, there's a reddish haze in our Japanese maple, and male robins everywhere, relishing the many worms who have a choice between drowning or taking their chances on the surface of the garden.
The latest "Special Weather Statement" for western Washington from the National Weather Service warns of an increased risk of landslides, as the soil is already soaked and more rain is forecast for most of this week, and the possibility of some rivers flooding, as well.
I'm glad we live on high ground!
