Leaves on Asphalt

These are not fallen autumn leaves, but leaves that died on the tree because of the drought. Now there are floods.

I'm fortunate to be on a slope on high ground. Flood water drains away quickly. Others are not so lucky. In Christchurch many homes are flooded, either by rising water, or by holes in the roof due to unrepaired earthquake damage. My daughter is in the second category, though at one stage the water was thigh deep in her street.
