Nothing seemed the way it used to be

Do you remember the days when Creme Eggs came in Colours?

There were Blue ones, Green ones, and Red ones.

I loved the Blue ones. They were better formed, and more full of creme than the Green or Red ones.

(My predilection of colours, is similar to my predilection for numbers - blue is even, red and green are odd, A is Even, B is Even, C is Odd).

They were also BIGGER.

When I stood at the counter, with my eyes level with the Formica edging, and pinging my finger against the little piece which was broken and made a lovely noise when it poooinged back into place the eggs were placed just higher than my nose.

It appeared to me that they were the biggest of treats. They were 12½ pence.

Now they are smaller and cost, like 80 pence each!! And unless you leave them in the fridge for 3 days, are swallowed down within 23 seconds.

That is exactly how long I had this one for this morning, before it's soppiness melted all over my mitts.

I had to have it to make up for the 6 we misplaced on Saturday night.
