Cock & Bull

The pub on the right is the Bull Hotel in Stony Stratford. Next door but one, the brick building is the Cock Hotel. Together these two pubs are the origin of "Cock and Bull" stories, from the days when they were Coaching Inns on Watling Street, the Roman Road to the North. People staying at the Inns would tell increasingly tall tales to try and out-do people from the other Inn; probably not a lot has changed!
