Bronze beastie
The caretaker’s wife brought me this handsome fellow today, in a plastic bottle. She says he didn’t lose half of his front leg by being put into or shaken out of the narrow neck, but I hae ma doots. Poor chap, after the indignities of the photo session and once back in the greenery, forward movement proved difficult (he used his impressive jaws to help at one point).
Our house guests left after a late breakfast, to avoid the worst of the traffic - many people will be leaving today, the last day of Carnival. I'm hoping they'll come back at the weekend - it was great having an engineer handyman around, and prepared to do a little DIY.
Faffing about on the computer after they left, waiting for HH to allow me access to the dongle (we can’t get the wifi to work) so I could check my emails. I knew one small job had come in, and am hoping it will be the last this week. Need to make the house respectable for our curry lunch party on Saturday – we have two houses full of junk accumulated over far too many years, and don’t often have as good an opportunity to sort things out. Made one curry on Saturday (it was supposed to be the mild one, but sent my palate through the roof). Have to shop for and start on the other one tomorrow, but various friends will be bringing dishes, which makes life a lot easier.
