We've been funded to take on two trainees under a scheme that provides job opportunities for unemployed under-25s and we have been fortunate in getting F and R to fill the posts. In their first two weeks they have shown themselves to be willing and conscientious workers, quick to learn and to use their initiative.
R, on the right, is part of a clown troup in her spare time, and F, left, who aims to become a youth worker, supplied the artistic talent required for the poster advertising our next event, an opportunity for gardeners to swop seeds and advice for the new growing season.
We expect to see our trainees blossoming in their own careers once they have taken root at the cafe.
