View from Te Mata Peak

Into Napier city centre to view the Art Deco buildings – did our own walking tour with an Art Deco Walk guide booklet. After coffee we went out to view the sights from the top of Te Mata Peak (foto) - interesting drive to the summit but well worth the effort. Next a visit out to Cape Kidnappers and the gannets but unfortunately the road from Te Awanga to the gannet colony has been washed away. From here we went out to Ocean Beach, walked along the beach for a while and then drove back to the motel. Tomorrow the drive to Gisborne.
