Believe it or not, I had no idea that Frank was going to be former military when I drew this - the costume at the party was that - a costume. But the moment it appeared, I knew it was right: I'd been wondering how I was going to work in the whole DADT thing - most of the people who know me know that I went to jail at Ft. Knox for three months for being caught in my barracks with another guy. As Tad was too young, and it would have complicated him in ways I didn't want to do, I thought I'd likely bring in another character at some point. But Frank was the perfect choice.

Also, "report for groveling and light spanking" is one of the real Frank's favorite lines. He still says it all the time. :)
