Spring ahead
The birds were everywhere today. Although the sun was out, the air was still very cold but everywhere around me, it sounded like spring. Large flocks of starlings descended in my yard and as they flew from tree to tree, they filled every branch. When traveling, the flock looks like it rolls; the birds at the back of the flock go over and replace the birds at the front.
Tomorrow it is supposed to warm up into the 40’s which would be great. I plan on taking a walk in the park and spending some time outside. Saturday night we set the clocks ahead. The switch will provide an extra hour of daylight in the evening, so the sun won't set Sunday until 7:04 p.m!! I can not wait! It makes such a difference having that extra hour at the end of the day. I don’t even mind that we lose and hour’s sleep.
I caught this robin drinking from the small puddle of water left by the melting snow. He wasn’t camera shy either. Sometimes when I hit the shutter button, the birds will fly off. This guy just kept looking up at me as if I was just a strange animal that made clicking noises. He was determined to have his drink and didn’t mind me taking photos of him. Blip done!
