After the storm

It amazes me how we could be totally trapped in our homes on one day and then the very next day we are able to get around on the roads.  The roads yesterday were all snow covered and very slippery.  Today I was driving the kids to school by late morning.  Don't get me wrong, there were still some bad spots.  I found out the hard way coming home from taking Nadia to nursery school.  I turned the wheel left as I was coming around to a traffic light and my car went straight.  I ended up facing the wrong direction. 
After I turned around, I paid extra attention to those tricky spots that still had snow.  
My husband and I went over to our favorite Chinese restaurant for lunch and then made a quick stop at Starbucks for my triple shot iced espresso with almond milk. 
As you can see from my photo, my yard still looks very pretty with all the snow.  I especially like the evergreens.  I think the snow looks like icing on them.  It's very cold tonight and I'm sure there will be lots of ice on the roads.  I'm in for the night.
