Corylus Avellana or common hazel in bloom
The common hazel is the earliest tree to start blooming in the spring. These are male catkins, the female ones are very small and bright red. I could not detect any of them yet.
There are many hazel shrubs around Villa Tyven, but unfortunately the squirrels and other animals always eat up the nuts, leaving us only the shells on the ground.
The catkins were quite difficult to photograph, because it was very windy and they kept moving constantly.
We will go to Tampere today to see either 'Dallas Buyers Club' or 'August: Osage County'. Dinner afterwards at Como :)
