Dangerous
This image, for me, is a first. I had a little time to play this afternoon so decided to try a true HD image. I really disliked the result in colour so changed it to make it presentable. There was a reason for photographing the old shed in the courtyard but it needed a little something. Maera came into the picture and just stood still enough for me to take the three exposures I needed.
Why the shed? Have a look at the floor. Not only are 6 inches of reinforced cement caving in but, what isn't so visible is that the wall is falling outward. It's been propped up at the moment by scaffolding on the other side and partially by an old potting shed. This hasn't been caused by the recent weather, it's not a sink hole either. What has caused the floor to cave in is the excavation of the badgers that live below it in the summer months. There will only be one badger at any one time. It's extraordinary how if a badger dies, the next generation is able to follow an old trail and find the sett.
The sett runs under my sitting room... and yes, there are signs of cracks in some walls. The whole front of the house had to be repaired before I moved in. I know the estate are looking into badger licenses and can only assume they will be looking to English nature for permission for major work to be done, on what are, ironically, listed buildings.
