The View from the Top

Not my usual view when at work on a Friday afternoon but I'll take it today! I was asked to help with some acoustic sampling to help get the perfect setup for an orchestra playing in this theatre.

You can just about see our special loudspeaker which is about the size of a beach ball and emits sounds from all directions. I was in charge of setting the microphone up in various locations around the theatre to pick up the sound. Through modelling our specialists can produce suggestions for the optimal setup.

I really enjoyed my afternoon. I'm just glad I don't have my Dad's vertigo!
