Springtime Wood
Yet another beautiful day, I think Spring has arrived at last :-) Today on our way home we stopped off at Lyveden New Bield An Elizabethan garden lodge whose construction was started by Sir Thomas Tresham to symbolise his catholic faith. Unfortunately he was involved in the Gunpowder Plot and subsequently died in prison in 1605 before the lodge was completed.
It's a fascinating place to visit with an audio guide to follow round the walk. I can imagine it will be even more spectacular in the summer when the wildflowers come though. Rather than posting a shot of the lodge I decided to share this vertical plan in the woodland, I really like the glow of the spring glass and the ethereal feel to it.
Hope you've had sunshine where you are too :)
