Bus Challenge No 7

OR

Stairway to Heaven

Another 'cheat' on the Bus Challenge this week (sorry Norah), but this was my only option, for several reasons.

The most gorgeous day of the year so far today, found me indoors at the Guildhall in Bath for three back-back book talks. I had hoped to post a photo of the magnificent Georgian Banqueting Hall, where the talks took place, but due to the brilliant sun, the curtains had all be drawn and it wasn't looking at its best. So if you would like to see the room in all its glory, along with the three eighteenth century chandeliers, here's a link.

Instead I give you another view of the staircase chandelier, this time from below!

Today's talks (and my last ones you'll be glad to hear!):

Joanna Trollope: Sense and Sensibility - Her much-anticipated re-working of Austen’s first novel, Sense and Sensibility, has been one of the most talked-about books of the year.

Call the Midwife - Philip Worth and Suzannah Hart, husband and daughter of the late Jennifer Worth, author of the incredibly successful Call the Midwife trilogy, which in turn inspired the acclaimed TV series, come to the Festival to talk about her life and work.

Penelope Lively - Much-loved and award-winning author Penelope Lively reports from beyond the horizon of old age in her memoir Ammonites and Leaping Fish.

Total bus journey time = 50 mins
