Day: Challenging Day

The last long distance race I did was Challenge Roth, and it really lived up to its name. The weather was pretty good except that it was very windy, and as a result the bike leg was a bit tougher than it could have been. Today on the club bike ride it was similar.

At times it was a bit sketchy when we were hit by some big gusts from the side but overall it was a great ride. Over the years I think I have built up a good attitude when you I'm faced with a headwind. My attitude is quite simple, I simply ignore the speed and focus on the effort. By focusing on the effort I don't work too hard and burn out, and as a result I don't waste energy needlessly.
